About Cortunay
Currently based in Los Angeles, California, Cortunay Minor (she/they) is a performing artist who predominantly specializes in Theatre acting and Spoken Word poetry. In Spring of 2024, Cortunay will be receiving a Bachelor of Art degree from UCLA, with an acting-emphasized major in Theatre and a minor in Community Engagement and Social Change.
From being an interdisciplinary creator, to living intersectionally as a Black, queer, feminine-of-center individual, Cortunay has grown to deeply value collectivity and connectivity. Centering those values within every artistic pursuit, Cortunay often gravitates towards ensemble-focused productions such as new play festivals and community-engaged devising workshops. Some of Cortunay’s personal favorite performances have included: The Rocky Horror Show (Frank-N-Furter), Tell Me I’m Gorgeous at the End of the World: The Last Gay Play (The Black Stag), Collective Rage (Betty 4), The Bacchae of Euripides (Agave/Bacchante), and Fairview (Keisha).
